As I had mentioned several weeks before, the i have. i give. team has set out to help supply a couple families in need during difficult times, however as of right now, we are planning on only providing for one family, unless otherwise notified.
The i have. i give. team has decided that every other Thursday (excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve) we will supply this family with a meal. i have. i give.'s own Katie Bond has graciously signed up for this Thursday September 30th and I, Andrea, have signed up for Thursday October 14. As of now, we plan on providing a meal every other Thursday until the end of the 2010 year.
Please note: NO BLACK PEPPER, NO RAW VEGETABLES, THOUROGHLY COOKED MEAT
Please know that you do not have to cook the meal, if you would rather purchase the meal for the family that is more than welcomed as well. Any way that you can give of what you have is greatly appreciated:)
If you would like to sign up for one of the following days please contact a member of the i have. i give. team at ihaveigive@gmail.com

Is Your Refrigerator Running... UPDATE
Well, as promised once I found out more about who had donated the fridge for the young woman whose own had suddenly stopped working, I would post about it. The fridge was donated by the woman's parents who had asked for the fridge for her nanny. Although i have. i give. did not necessarily facilitate this exchange we still wanted to recognize them as they so willingly gave of what they have. Thanks again for all of you support!

Help for Halee... Another Update
We received another update from Halee's family friend about the recovery of Halee and I am so excited to share with you all the exciting news.
Halee had her pre-operation appointment today at which the doctor was pleasantly surprised by her recovery speed and determined that she no longer needs further surgery. She has one more week, as they begin to wean her off the pain medications, before she is back to living on her own, driving and, and as Halee so wanted, back to working again.
Halee's mom said "Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. It worked."
Once again the entire i have. i give. team thank you for giving to Halee.

Help for Halee... UPDATE
Thank you to every one of you that so generously donated clothing items for Halee. Your generosity and willingness to give will help Halee on her road to recovery, in which we wish her the best and hope she has a speedy and successful recovery.
Halee is home and was overwhelmed and very appreciative by the love and support that she received through your generous donations. A close friend of the families provided us with an update as she recently visited with Halee. She said she is pleasantly surprised with how well she seemed to be doing. She told us she seems to be in good spirits and her pain seemed to be controlled. The doctors still expect her to make a full recovery, although it may take up to a year before she is back to her self again. They are in hopes that she will not need skin graphs, however there are a few places on her body that may require it. I think that I can speak for the entire i have. i give. team and all of it's supporters when I say that we hope for the best for Halee.
Halee is very hopeful of going back to work in October, as she currently works at a restaurant downtown! Go get em' Halee and good luck in the coming months!
Again thank you to all of you who donated clothing items for Halee, keep her and her family in your thoughts as the days ahead may be challenging. May Halee's story be a reminder to us all that life is fragile so handle with care.

Is Your Refrigerator Running?
Hi,
I don't know what can be done, but I have a friend in need who is actually my daughter's day care lady. They have three children of their own, plus two babies and three toddlers that she watches. Their refrigerator just died and they are currently living out of a small dorm refrigerator. She's been trying to buy parts and baby the fridge but it's just dying and she can't risk storing formula or milk in it. We can't afford to buy her a fridge on our own. Can you guys help?

Help for Halee
Recently a young 19 year old woman, named Halee, was severely burned in a campfire. She is currently in her second week in ICU at University Hospital with 2nd and 3rd degree burns that cover all the way from her cheek down to her naval. (Apparently she got a little too close to the fire and her shirt went up in flames, melting her clothes to her body). I spoke with a family friend of the young woman today who informed me of some of the painful procedures she has had to endure since her unfortunate incident. When she is allowed to go home, she will need to wear loose-fitting tops that are long sleeved. (She will need a medium or a large size). A care package was being put together to be delivered to Halee's home soon. Thank you to all of those selflessly giving individuals who so graciously scoured their own closets and donated items to help in Halee's recovery. If anyone has items that they would like to donate to Halee, please e-mail the i have. i give. team at ihaveigive@gmail.com.
Thank you again for your love and support of the i have. i give. team, thank you for your care and concern for Halee, and for giving selflessly of what you have.
The True Meaning of Beauty
As I looked in the mirror what did I see?
A girl that was unwanted and UGLY staring back at me.
Where once my head was covered with long lovely curls
Now I look more like the boys than I do the girls.
Stripped from my blanket that kept my head warm.
When I looked at my reflection in the mirror my image seemed worn.
My hair was what defined me, or so that's what I would say.
Without my long curly locks, I felt like a big piece of me had been taken away.
Where once I saw beauty I could no longer find in my reflection
I had suddenly become shy and uncomfortable in my own sun kissed skin.
I studied myself precisely, my eyes tracing every square inch, every hair that did lie
Not a blink, or a bat came from my judgmental eye.
Pain was written there upon my dreary face
Happy I was not, for sadness had invaded it's place.
My eyes quickly diverted away from the mirror
And it was at that very moment a faint whisper I heard in my ear.
You are BEAUTIFUL!
Beautiful? I thought to myself, HA! There's no way I could be
I've shaved my head bare, every imperfection and flaw you can now see.
The VOICE answered back, and a whisper it was not.
You are beautiful my dear girl, but have you forgot?
The beauty you see with the naked eye is nothing more than a reflection from what's shining within
For true beauty lies deep down in the soul, and radiates a glorious light on the outside from in.
Your hair is not what makes you beautiful, and it definitely is not what makes you YOU
It's the heart that beats inside your chest, and the giving hands that continue to do.
Bald and beautiful; you no longer have hair to help you cover up and hide.
For now the focus is about the beauty that illuminates from the woman you are inside.

Thank You
To all of our followers, whose love and support we could not do without.
As I had mentioned at the First Annual i have. i give. Extravaganza, days before the big event the team and I were discussing what we would do if we did not meet our goal of $1,100, little did we know the tremendous generosity that we would receive. With all of your love, support and generous donations we greatly surpassed that goal and were able to raise $2,300. I cannot even begin to tell you how much the i have. i give. team and myself appreciate your generosity and your willingness to give of what you have. We were all so blown away by your support and your donations and we cannot thank you enough for your kindness. With the money that was raised, both at the Wiggin Out event, and at the First Annual, we were able to provide Children with Hairloss two hair replacement treatments and kits. With the additional money left over we purchased a King Soopers gift card for a struggling family in financial need, as the husband was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, he is 29.
We greatly appreciate all of your donations, and we recognize and applaud your willingness to give during a very difficult financial time. More so than anything, however, we would like to recognize and thank each and every one of you that attended Wiggin Out and/or the First Annual i have. i give. Extravaganza. We would also like to thank you all for your unrelenting support of the i have. i give. project. Since our first event, word has slowly spread and the awareness of what the i have. i give. project is hoping to accomplish has begun to catch on. At my work alone, one young woman donated 8 1/2" of her beautiful hair yesterday to Children with Hairloss, another friend of mine, Megan Avery, works at a salon in Durango called Lemon Head, and they donated 12 ponytails this past week to Children with Hairloss. Not to mention my brave cousin Kelli Bucci, who graciously donated her own beautiful blonde locks on the night of the event!
As the founder of the i have. i give. Project I cannot begin to express my pride for the six wonderful women (Ashley, Erica, Jessica, Katie, Kendall, and Stevie) who have stepped up and dedicated their time and effort to help me accomplish this dream, but as a team we recognize that we would not be able to accomplish our goals if it was not for the love and support that we receive and hope to continue to receive from such people as yourselves. Thank you again so much for giving of what you have.
With much love,
Andrea and the i have. i give. team
